“Web 3.0 Aesthetics: In the Future Post-Hype of the NFTs” at Annka Kultys Gallery

“Web 3.0 Aesthetics: In the Future Post-Hype of the NFTs” (a Trilogy Curated by Annka Kultys for LaCollecionio) will explore NFT aesthetics through the lens of social, intellectual, and technological upheaval that took place in the turn on the 21st century. The exhibition will include 27 NFTs presented in three themes “Metamorphosis of the Body,” “Digital Florascapes,” and “Digital Abstraction,” each section featuring 9 NFTs.

“Web 3.0 Aesthetics: In the Future Post-Hype of the NFTs,” the NFT Trilogy will be presented as an immersive exhibition at ANNKA KULTYS PHYGITAL (one-of-a-kind virtual reality gallery for exhibiting, contextualising, and collecting NFTs) and the NFTs will be sold on LaCollectionio (the French NFT decentralised market place).

“Metamorphosis of the Body” explores how artists represent the body and expand its definition through the use of technology in the NFT space. “Metamorphosis of the Body” features work by LaTurbo Avedon, Jeremy Bailey, Danielle Braithwaite-Shirley, Stine Deja, Baron Lanteigne, Olga Mikh Fedorova, Signe Pierce, Marjane Moghaddam, and Ziyang Wu.

“Digital Florascapes” surveys artists Kate Bickmore and Sian Fan, Claudia Hart, Lauren Moffatt, Signe Pierce, Anna Ridler, Ada Sokól, and Addie Wagenknecht with Aiala Hernando who use new technologies, computers, and NFTs to represent, depict and re-invent nature today.

“Digital Abstraction” traces how artists generate abstraction with new tools. Abstract art largely seems unrelated to the world of appearances, however with the right software, an image on a screen can be morphed from figurative to abstract with the press of a key. Tools such as autonomous systems create “generative art” and a variety of softwares use pixels as paint to create new colour fields. Artists include Chris Dorland, Harm van den Dorpel, Andreas Gysin, Rachel de Joode, Yves Peitzner and Jelena Gregov, Aaron Scheer, Alida Sun, and Jennifer West.

This first NFT Trilogy surveys canonical themes within art history—the body, nature, and abstraction—and how artists translate them to the NFT space.
